Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years focused on people suffering from war zones and natural disasters. Curry has reported on wars spanning Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who was best known by her position as a correspondent on the Today program, which was a morning news program aired by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is renowned for her coverage of humanitarian crises and natural disasters, especially in countries who have been ravaged by the war. Curry's father was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. She met her mother while being with her dad in Japan during World War II. In the wake of her father's army service, the family was often moved. Curry was a student at the High School in Ashland Oregon. Her graduation with a journalist education from University of Oregon in 1978. She was exposed to different cultures as well as her experiences throughout her childhood likely influenced her empathetic method of expressing her views on issues of international significance. Curry and her husband were frequently moving which is why she could not remain in the same place for a period of two years. The couple lived with her in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. She finally graduated in Ashland the high school. She set the stage for a successful career when she began her career in broadcasting as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first female news reporter for KTVL at the age of 22. Later, she moved into the post of anchor and reporter for KGW which was an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. Then she returned to Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. It was during her association with the channel for the duration of six years that she won two Emmy Awards.
